He’s been the star of the TV hit show Sherlock, starred in films such as Star Trek: Into Darkness and The Hobbit worked with Hollywood legends from Steven Spielberg to Ralph Fiennes and is set to go from strength to strength. He is also a Prince’s Trust Ambassador; using the arts to support the development of disadvantaged young people.

So, when many other successful actors fall victim to the lifestyle, the glitz, the glamour, the increased attention and the numerous temptations, what does he put his consistent success down to?

“I think it’s very important to remain true to your nature… I meditate a lot. That’s a huge tool in trying to calm myself, get away from the crazy circus of it all, have a focused mind as well as be a kinder, considerate person in the world.”

A focused mind gives us greater control. It is the hallmark of a disciplined person. If we want to build a successful career, a meaningful business, a strong family, a great life, then it has to start with a focused mind.
