Tesla's Elon Musk Launches Fully Electric Truck
The latest news with a dose of wisdom...

At an event in Los Angeles last Thursday evening, CEO and founder of Tesla, Elon Musk, finally revealed the much anticipated fully electric truck. This was first hinted at last year at a TED Talk event and now that it is here, the audience finally had the chance to learn what the machine will actually be capable of.
Why this matters goes beyond 'just another product launch' for the transport industry. It is a step change in the way we transport things overland that will have a big effect on the climate - due to the source of energy coming from solar powered battery chargers and not from fossil fuels that release carbon dioxide; a global warming gas.
We can learn from this example because Mr Musk set the sights of Tesla (originally building fast 2-seater road cars) on transforming the whole road transport infrastructure, not just cars. Tesla's mission statement is;
Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
Last Thursday's launch is the result of someone deciding what it is they wanted to achieve and then, from there, working out how they're going to achieve it. Not, looking at what they already knew they could do and basing their long-term aims only on these known abilities.
This basic principle of Personal Leadership is, whether we realised it or not, how we've learned to do anything! So why not apply it more consciously to our long-term ambitions as well?!? The principle dictates we need to know first what we want to achieve in order to be able to achieve it. By seeing our goal first in our 'mind's eye', we can then more effectively organise ourselves and others around us to take the steps necessary to achieve it. Mastery of this and opening up our imagination to do so is a crucial step towards being highly effective in achieving any goal.
Here are the highlights of the launch cover by Wired magazine. It's also worth noting, that Tesla has relaunched the Roadster, to put the final nail in the coffin of the petrol car...
Wait! There's More...
