How a Las Vegas Taco Business Turned a Burglary Into an Opportunity

Often we talk about a great quality of a legend being that they can turn a problem into an opportunity, when most people can only see the problem. I’m sure at times being able to do this can seem like a cliche at best or just impossible at worst.
So here’s a great practical example of a business being able to do this. Frijoles & Frescas Grilled Tacos in Las Vegas were recently burgled. Instead of moaning about it, they turned the CCTV footage of the burglary into a spoof TV advert of the burglars breaking in for their tacos. They received plenty of free press coverage and over 4 million Youtube hits in the process!
Legends See Opportunity In Every Problem
While it may be easy to take this situation at face value and think it’s about a funny video, it shows a lot about the attitude of the owners and their ability to choose how they wanted to see the situation. While many people would dwell on the problem and the extra work that the burglary caused, they instead knew that this was the situation they had to deal with. They couldn’t turn back time. They chose to see and perceive the whole situation differently. By changing their perspective their actions changed and they were able to be more positive and bring creativity and imagination together to create a powerful opportunity. One that may well have increased their sales in the process!
