Could there be a way to power the world with renewable energy from a single wind farm?
This trio of tweets below shows the progress that is being made - in just one sector - towards being able to generate copious amounts of energy to look after our human needs in a way that will not destroy the only planet we have to live on.
This week, Scotland will receive electricity from the world's first floating wind turbines. A concept that could enable the turbines to be used in the North Atlantic, where winds are high, but the water is deep. Also this week, Jeff Bezos launched the next phase of Amazon's transition to powering its whole operations with renewable energy. They have brought online the 18th renewable project out of 53 they are planning. Kara Hurst, Amazon's worldwide director of sustainability, said in a statement reported by CNBC Thursday;
"Investing in renewable energy is a win-win-win-win – it's right for our customers, our communities, our business, and our planet."
Legendary companies and their founders are always looking for ways to improve not only their own business but also how to serve and give back to the environment in which we all live.
