As President Obama is soon to leave office, here's a bit of comedy that is a timely reminder of how important it is to be able to laugh at yourself, especially when you have an important position. As we see in this video, President Obama, despite being one of the most powerful people on the planet can laugh along when the host pokes fun at him and his colleagues. This is in contrast to President-Elect Trump who has let it been known publicly that he doesn't like the impersonations done of him by a certain A-List actor!!

Ultimately, if we take ourselves too seriously, we run the danger of losing touch with reality. We may also start to think we are better than we really are! This can lead to alienating people around us who can then lose respect for us, but may not show this directly! However, if we can laugh at ourselves, we show our own humanness. It tells others that we are comfortable in our own skin which breeds trust.

Wait! There's more...

I am passionate about fulfilling my potential in life and helping others to do the same, so that we can all make a difference to society. I've learnt that fulfilment comes from pursuing a goal that is greater than my own ambitions and having a real purpose. I originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant but it was helping people through entrepreneurship and career development, rather than doing the numbers when I really came started to enjoy myself. I have found that we aren't taught as youngsters how to deal with challenging life situations and so there are many people that on the "outside" are fine, but "inside" really struggle.
