Barack Obama's Morning Routine...

How often do you start the day in a great state?! In the short video below, Reggie Love, Barack Obama’s personal aide from 2009-2011 shares a few anecdotes about how the former President of the United States starts his day...
All Legends Develop Discipline
While being light-hearted, the video shows just how critical it is that legends develop the discipline to perform at their best. In this case it’s physical health, however, discipline will apply to all areas of our lives whether it’s working out, spending time reading inspiring material or planning our lives. Without discipline, we won’t be able to follow through on the activities that are most vital for us to achieve our goals.
When we have discipline, the opposite is the case, we feel good about ourselves and trust ourselves more. Just think about how good you felt when you followed through and completed something you had been putting off! How many people with far less pressure than President Obama don’t exercise because they're “too busy”, let alone workout every morning without fail? That takes immense self-discipline but it is something that can be learnt if we didn't develop it in our younger years.
It's also really powerful to hear Reggie talk about how the President, a man twenty years older than him has more energy! President Obama wasn’t born with that extra energy, it's a by-product of developing higher and higher levels of self-confidence and self-discipline.
Do you have a morning routine that sets you up for the day in a good state? If so what is working for you, if not, what inspiration can you take from Obama? Share in the comments below!
