European Football Championship 2016 - Chris Coleman on Overcoming Failure!
A Dose of Inspiration to Get Your Day Moving...

The beautiful thing about sport, as in life, is that there are always "surprises". The current European Football Championship held in France has certainly had a few of them. Coming off the back of Iceland's historic win against England, Wales recently beat Belgium, the world's second best team to secure a semi-final position. To put this into context, it's been over 58 years since Wales last qualified for a major international football tournament and they have never reached a semi-final before!
What is also fascinating is that the manager of Wales, Chris Coleman lost his first 6 matches in a row when he took over in 2012. They failed to qualify for the 2014 World Cup and he contemplated resigning. So it was a powerful message he gave when interviewed after the match by reporters. He said:
"If you work hard enough and you're not afraid to dream then you're not afraid to fail....I'm not afraid to fail. Everybody fails. I have had more failures than I've had success."
Legends live by this message. They know they will have more failure than success - however it's the success that people around them will often focus on.
Here's the video of Chris Coleman's interview. Enjoy!
